NASA does what?
i am all for an end to the "space shuttle program" - not NASA, not
science, not space exploration - i happen to like the idea of going to
mars as the next goal.
but, the space shuttle has done it's job - it's time to redeploy those
dollar to another event horion.
i noted such opposition in this post and i back it up with the
following article:
By MIKE SCHNEIDER
CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. (AP) - NASA wrestled Monday with whether to try a
Fourth of July space shuttle liftoff after the startling discovery of
a small chunk of foam insulation that broke off Discovery's fuel tank
as it sat on the launch pad. (the rest of the story)
let this model sitting on the pad be something cool for the kiddos at
the space museum or take it on the road with some "no child left
behind" grant money and show it to all the schools this next school
year.
but, let's move along to something more productive (not even safer)
just more productive.
