Climate Expert Says NASA Tried to Silence Him

As I was reading this article about one more instance of government

agencies interfering with Science and the truth, I suddenly realized

that the Republicans and the Right may have won a very important

battle in my mind. As a life long liberal and Democrat I have always

appreciated the importance of the "government" to serve as an advocate

for the average citizen and as a buffer for the people against the

power of special interests. Particularly I trusted the big

bureaucratic agencies, inefficient as might be, to at least be

impartial and reality based when gathering public information. Now,

all of a sudden, I find myself distrusting the motives of government.
